Hi folks,

I wanted to let you know (in case you missed the email) that I've decided to create a new bonus for everyone who orders Lead Guitar Secrets through Friday, July 27, 2007.

It's a pretty amazing bonus that I could easily charged for. But I'm GIVING away as a special "Thank you" to everyone who helped me get Lead Guitar Secrets off the ground with a bang.

I made a video that explains all of this. Check out the video here:

Only Two More Days To Launch!

The countdown is on...

Lead Guitar Secrets Launch Date:
9:00AM, Central, Friday, July 20, 2o07

We've almost nailed down the price. But, I can't share it with you until tomorrow. Here's why: I decided at the last minute add an optional, 12-month video newsletter subscription for people who want to stay motivated and go really deep into the course material.

I got this idea because of all the great feedback from the videos we've been releasing lately. I thought it would be cool to create a special "video newsletter," just for customers.

The newsletter subscription will $3.95/month. VERY reasonable for what you'll receive. And of course, it will be 100% optional. You certainly do NOT have to subscribe to purchase Lead Guitar Secrets. Anyway, I've been doing a lot of thinking lately...

This course is HUGE. It's broken down into five parts:

  1. Finger strength training
  2. Scales
  3. Licks
  4. 14 solos (that teach specific skills)
  5. Scale-chord relationships

As I was going through all the material, I started to realize that each part could probably be a seperate course by itself. Which got me to thinking...

After the intial 1,000 copies are gone, I may decide to break this course into five individual courses. Which means the overall cost will go up (dramatically).

But, if you're one of the original 1000 owners, you'll get the whole kit-and-caboodle for one very reasonable price. More about that tomorrow...

Lastly, I thought I'd share another solo from the course. This one is called "Heavy D" because it's written in drop D tuning. It uses the D pentatonic minor scale.

Skills you'll learn from this solo:

  • Double & full bends
  • Syncopated rhythmic patterns
  • Hammer-ons & pull-offs
  • 16th note rhythmic patterns
  • 8th note triplets, quarter note triplets

I've also included the tab & the mp3s. Use track 98 to listen to the solo (with full-band). Use track 99 to learn the rhythm guitar. Then , try playing the solo over the jam track!

Step 1: Right-click here & choose, "Save Target As..." to download the tab (pdf)

Step 2: Right-click on the links below & choose, "Save Target As..." to download the audio (mp3)

Track 98 (with solo)

Track 99 (rhythm only)

Step 3: Check out the video!

Enjoy today's lesson and I'll talk to you tomorrow with the last minute details (and price).

Cheers!

Dan Denley

P.S. There's still time to enter the Fender Strat contest. Just be sure your entry is in by midnight July 20.

Hi Folks,

We're only 3 days from the release of Lead Guitar Secrets! And things are starting to get crazy. One of my employees, Lisa, (some of you already know her) said that she litterally had a nightmare the other night about the phone ringing off the hook! We're beefing up the staff around here to help out, but everyone is pretty sure it's going to be nuts...

Lead Guitar Secrets Launch Date:
9:00AM CST, Friday, July 20!

The website will go live at 9:00AM. We figured this is a good time for almost everyone. It'll be 3:00PM in the U.K. (My Australian friends will definitely need to drink a strong cup-of-joe because it'll be the middle of night there... sorry!)

I wanted to clarify a couple of things...

1) My staff has been getting a lot of emails (and phone calls) from people who want to pre-order the course. Sorry, but we can't take orders until Friday. That's the only fair way.

2) Some people are worried that the new course will sell out the same way Blues Guitar Secrets did back in Decemeber, 06. (If you don't remember, we had to litterally pull down the website and stop taking orders for a month while we replenished our stock).

There's no way we can guarantee that the course won't sell out. But, I think we've ordered enough stock that it won't sell out in the a matter minutes or anything. So, if you order in the first 24 hours, you should be fine.

3) The price. This is the question that keeps popping up on the blog and in hundreds of emails. We're still not 100% sure. But I promise to let you know what the price is ahead of time, so you can plan accordingly.

About Today's Lesson:

Today's lesson comes from DVD#3 of Lead Guitar Secrets. It's called, Delta Blues Solo #2. In the course I teach you the solo and rhythm parts to 14 songs. Each solo will teach you a specific concept or skill.

Skills you'll learn from this solo:
  • Triplets (a common rhythmic solo pattern)

  • Slow, sustained string-bends

  • Trills using open strings

  • Classic Albert King solo lick

  • Sliding
"What's Your Style Of Learning?" Everyone learns differently. Some people learn by hearing, some by watching, some by reading, etc. So, in Lead Guitar Secrets I've tried to cover all the bases. For each solo, you get the a professional recording of the solo with full-band (live instruments, not midi!).

You also get a the exact same recording without the solo track. That way, you can play solo and jam out with the band! And of course, I play all the solos for you on the DVDs (full speed and slowly) as well as give you all the tab.

Step 1: Right-click here & choose, "Save Target As.." to save the tab to your hard drive.
Step 2: Check out the video below!

Hope you enjoyed today's lesson. If so, please share this lesson with a friend by clicking on the envelop icon below ("Email post").

Don't forget to post your comments!

Cheers,

Dan Denley

P.S. Tomorrow, I hope to finally annouce the price as well as provide you with another lesson from the course. So, check back here tomorrow!

P.P.S. The Fender Strat contest is approaching 300 entries. But, there's still time to enter. Please go here to enter the contest. Note: there are only a handful of video entries so far. So, you have a very good chance of winning an U.S. Strat!

New video & "Spy Photo" of Lead Guitar Secrets!

Hi folks,

Yesterday I finally got my hands on the finished course and it looks awesome! Here's a "spy photo"...

(Obviously, this is a pretty bad picture. I just tossed everything on my floor & took a quick snapshot.) As you can see, there are a total of 6 disks. From left-to-right you have: DVDs 1-4, the audio CD and the CD-ROM tutorial (far right).

The book is beautiful. The printer did an excellent job. The cover is really glossy and it's printed on a heavy card stock (so it will last!). I had them use the spiral coil because it's easy to lay the book out flat. It's 200 pages with 188 musical examples!

Yes. It took me a very long time to finish. Just ask my wife. :-)

About today's lesson: This video is on "Practicing Tips" and comes directly from DVD 2. I give you three examples of how to practice your scales using three different rhythmic patterns. I've provided the tab for you so you can see exactly what I'm playing.

Right-click here and choose, "Save As..." to download the tab for this video lesson.

Here's the video from DVD 2:

Note: This video requires the free Adobe flash plug-in.

Hope you enjoy this lesson. If so, please post your comments/questions below.

Cheers!

Dan Denley

P.S. We are just barely over a week from the release of Lead Guitar Secrets (Friday, July 20). And things are really starting to heat up!

There will be 1,000 initial copies available. (I ordered twice as much as I did when I released Blues Guitar Secrets last year). There will be several time-sensitive bonuses for the first few people who order. And it won't be the usual crap that you can get free on the internet...

I haven't finished them just yet. But I'm almost certain that several of the bonuses will be videos that I create specifically for the release of the new course. So, if you're interested, you should probably sign up for priority notification.

P.P.S. There currently 200+ entries for the Fender Strat contest. If you have entered, and you'd like to do so, please make sure enter by July 20.

Enter To Win A U.S. Fender Strat Here!

Hi folks,

We're officially two weeks from the release of Lead Guitar Secrets! Things are starting to really heat up around here trying to get everything in place for July 20 (the release date). Anyway, we've finally nailed down the details on the contest.

I've decided to give away TWO Fender Highway One Strats. I've ordered both guitars today... and they're SWEET!

Each guitar is an American made, Fender Highway One Stratocaster: Rosewood fretboard, wide seventies headstock, fat frets, alnico pickups, vintage-style bridge, satin finish & C-shaped maple neck. One is black, the other is red-wine (shown below).

Here are some pics:
