The countdown is on...
Lead Guitar Secrets Launch Date:
9:00AM, Central, Friday, July 20, 2o07
We've almost nailed down the price. But, I can't share it with you until tomorrow. Here's why: I decided at the last minute add an optional, 12-month video newsletter subscription for people who want to stay motivated and go really deep into the course material.
I got this idea because of all the great feedback from the videos we've been releasing lately. I thought it would be cool to create a special "video newsletter," just for customers.
The newsletter subscription will $3.95/month. VERY reasonable for what you'll receive. And of course, it will be 100% optional. You certainly do NOT have to subscribe to purchase Lead Guitar Secrets. Anyway, I've been doing a lot of thinking lately...
This course is HUGE. It's broken down into five parts:
- Finger strength training
- Scales
- Licks
- 14 solos (that teach specific skills)
- Scale-chord relationships
As I was going through all the material, I started to realize that each part could probably be a seperate course by itself. Which got me to thinking...
After the intial 1,000 copies are gone, I may decide to break this course into five individual courses. Which means the overall cost will go up (dramatically).
But, if you're one of the original 1000 owners, you'll get the whole kit-and-caboodle for one very reasonable price. More about that tomorrow...
Lastly, I thought I'd share another solo from the course. This one is called "Heavy D" because it's written in drop D tuning. It uses the D pentatonic minor scale.
Skills you'll learn from this solo:
- Double & full bends
- Syncopated rhythmic patterns
- Hammer-ons & pull-offs
- 16th note rhythmic patterns
- 8th note triplets, quarter note triplets
I've also included the tab & the mp3s. Use track 98 to listen to the solo (with full-band). Use track 99 to learn the rhythm guitar. Then , try playing the solo over the jam track!
Step 1: Right-click here & choose, "Save Target As..." to download the tab (pdf)
Step 2: Right-click on the links below & choose, "Save Target As..." to download the audio (mp3)
Track 98 (with solo)
Track 99 (rhythm only)
Step 3: Check out the video!
Enjoy today's lesson and I'll talk to you tomorrow with the last minute details (and price).
Cheers!
Dan Denley
P.S. There's still time to enter the Fender Strat contest. Just be sure your entry is in by midnight July 20.

Love your wee vids. They are definitely a big help. Looking forward to the new course.
Please please please tell us something about your set-up. How do you get that killer blues tone? Give us the works, all the settings, etc. TIA

Smokingunzz, it's simple...
Marshall JCM900 100W head, 4x12 celestion cab, BBE Sonic Maximizer pedal. Using the dirty channel gain on 10, reverb on 8, bass on 10, middle on 5, trab on 7, presence on 8.
I'm using my back humbucker and the tone on guitar is all the way up.
Cheers!

Hey hey Dan
I've done my sums and can't afford your new course just now. Save up all my money and then I'll buy for sure.
When are you posting the finals of the strat contest? I'm away all next week but want to vote. Are you waiting til july 27 before deciding? (cheeky question - do you have to buy the course to be in the final? ;-) )
Anyways, cheers dan, hope it all goes well.
