I'm suprised at the lack of comments so far, doesn't anyone want to win this thing? Anyway, I've been learning (trying to) since january and am getting into the habit of practicing every day. I would like a guide of how and what to learn to get where I want to be in terms of ability and also so I don't pick up any bad habits I hear about so often.
(The emails are great too)

Dan,
Your course sounds great! I would love to have your course. If I had the money, I would be ordering it and not even trying to win it. I'm not a very good player at all, but I love to relax playing it. I started to play about 15 years ago. I was a vocalist in a rock band, and the guitar players showed me what I know today (which is not much). The band broke up and I moved on and got married. I adoped my husband's 3 sons. Then we had twins 3 months early. The girl were born under two pounds each. The following day Gabrielle died. Lauren has had 7 surgeries, 4 cardiac arrests, and 15 hospitalizations (ranging from 4 days to 5 months). She is 4 years old now with severe Cerebral Palsy. Even though the Dr's said that she would never walk and talk, she is running and talking. I also have a 15 month old daughter who has been diagnosed with a mild cerebral palsy.
I am a part time college student pursuing my teaching degree which will take another 4 years and also my sons Boy Scout Leader.
I would use this course for my relaxation at the end of my days, play for the girls (they love to dance to the 1 song that do know), and get good enough to play at Boy Scout campfires.
Thank you,
Nancy

Hello
I am 16 and i have been playing for around a year or something and i am told i have talent but i am getting frustrated. I want these lessons because my fingers are really hyper and just want to rip across the neck of my guitar, but they dont know exactly how. I need discipline, i need direction and i really need your lessons. Your emails have been so helpful but i still need more and i will use your course so that i can play anything on my guitar and hopefully start that band with my friends.
Thanks for all you help this far.

Dear Dan,
My dream is to learn how to play the guitar and become a singer. Since I was a child I have loved to sing and have always wanted to play the guitar. My mother was a single parent for most of my adolescent years and she could not afford anything extra. After I was old enough to realize my mother's struggle I stopped asking. I am now a mother of two and neither myself or my husband are currently working. My dream resurfaced this past July after I had a miscarriage. I was listening to one of my cd's and the lyrics started to make me think about my life and all of the things that I thought I could never do. I started to get angry and sad because I wanted to make something of my life. I thought of what I could do and thought becoming a musician was way out of my league and my budget. So I decided to enroll in a online college course to get my associates degree. After receiving a small anount of money that was left over from my grants, I asked myself," Why can't I become a musician?" If this is something that I really want, why shouldn't I at least try? So I started looking at guitars and I was able to find an acustic for $59.00. So I bought it and also bought a book to try and teach myself. Let's just say that didn't work out so well. Then I found your website and wanted to purchase your program, but I couldn't because I have other responsibilities. All I want it to give my children a chance at a great life and be able to do things with them. Right now, I know that won't happen. I know love is more important than money, but in this world, money is just something that you must have. If I won your program, my heart and soul would be put into learning how to play the guitar. I have written four songs so far and I need to learn how to put music to them. To me the guitar makes the song. I know that there are other people with far worse situations than mine, but I thought I would give this contest a shot. Thanks.

I want it because I want to be able to play at the level of really cool guitarists like, Mark Tremonti, Steve Vai, Kirk Hammelet, Micheal Angelo, Joe Striani, and many others. With it I also want to create my own unqiue style. I will use it for a life time cause, if little things like this get out of reach then it could set me years back as a guitarist.

Also thank you for your wonderful offer! It is a great gift for people like me wanting to improve my guitar playing skill but money is tight. I am sure a lot of people would love to being given this gift by you. Of course I am one them. I believe your course will be very helpful and practical. Well! If you pick me to receive your great gift, I will be very delightful. But if you choose someone else to be this luckiest person. I will also be very happy for either he or she. Dan ~ I have been receiving your Amazing Guitar mini courses and really appreciate them. I am carrying on our family tradition of playing the guitar... we all learned from my Mom. She was in a guitar/mandolin band back in the 50's. She looked like she was having so darned much fun, all the kids and grandkids started to play. I think I'm coming along the slowest, and I want to excell so I won't be so bashful and self conscious about my playing. The contest is a chance at me reaching my goal. She was in her late 70's when she passed last year. She always said she was too old to take lessons (and now I'm thinking the same thing!) Hope I win this so I can prove myself wrong.

Hello Dan,
Thank you for that free book about scales. I really appreciate it. I'm just as passionated about guitar as you, i think. You give good lessons by mail. And you really want to help people to improve their playing. That's great. You really want to teach how to play guitar to the top level and share your knowledge. and that gives most people a good feeling inside, that they are helping somebody in a good way. And i understand that you don't do it for the money, but for the fun. And that's great. You really like it, i think. I would really like to get the course because i am a guitarmania man and like a lot of guitarstyles but sometimes i miss some theoretical knowledge. If i get the course than i would use those techniques in my band and try to achieve my dream to become famous with my metalband a la Metallica.

i would like this course because i have wanted to play the guitar all my life, but only managed to buy one two years ago, but i have learned VERY slowly and have only just learnt chords, but i cannot afford to pay for the whole thing (i would have bought it straight away after reading the comments other people left). i would also like to be able to play along with friends, and accompany friends who play other instruments, and be able to play some of my favourite songs but also to be able to have my own individual style.
i would use this course to join a band with my friends, as they are looking elsewhere for a new guitarist, but would rather have someone they know playing with them, and to help me relax after college.
thanks for sending the small email courses, they have helped me along leaps and bounds since i first got them a month ago, and i am sure the complete course would help me even more
thank you

I would like to have the course because I would like to bring my playing abilities up to thier full potential. At this time the only way I could possibly afford the course is to win it. If I had the course and it did for me what you say it will I would certainly tell everyone about the course who was interested in learning and how much it helped me. And if it helped me to help someone else that would be all the better. I don't think the price of the course was too high if it were any good and helped, the half price is even a better deal but at this time I can't afford anything and it has been this way for several years. Sincerely,Jody Bush

Hi,I've been playing since I was 15yrs old. Just major chords, and some minors(not many) and just playing to sing. I have good rhythem and can strum good but now I am teaching five grandchildren to play. Thay really want to learn, and they are doing well. I play by ear, can't read music.I want to learn more, now that I have time to do it. I have very little money,as I am on disability. But I have taught two sons, and two daughters to play the guitar. Now I am teaching the next generation..lol. The oldest grandaughter can play all the major chords now,so I need to know more to teach her, and me too. I don't know what they will do with it but playing the guitar has always been wonderful for me. I love it. I want to learn to play some lead, etc. as much as possible. I sang and played in a band when I was young, and most of my grands can sing well. We mostly do country, but I love it all. It would be great if I could win the course as then it would help all of us to learn more. The grands who are learning are 12yrs. 9yrs,8yrs,7yrs,and 6yrs. The younger three know 3 chords now.D-G-and A. We play Shania Twain's song 'You're Still The One.' They are learning to strum, and mostly they are following me, to play the songs...but the main thing is... THEY LOVE MUSIC. That is all I guess. Thank you so much. I play everyday,,and the grands practise with me. I have taught them to play the scales, etc. from your courses.. I wish I knew more to teach children..lol but they are getting it and I am very proud of them. Thanks again. Nancy

Dear Dan,
I am 48, having played the guitar since I was 13, and I *need* your course because all the numerous other ones I purchased over the years did not bring about any significant improvements.
That, and the fact that I honestly am cash-strapped owing to recently having purchased a house. Even though the price is *very* low, I still cannot afford it in the foreseeable future.
I thus am submitting this entry in the dear hope that I may be lucky enough to win a tool which will take my lifelong love of the guitar to new heights.
With very best regards,

Hi. I've been reading about your course for about a week or so and it sounds like it is very effective. I'm a teenage boy and I want to learn music theory without the hassle of going to lessons all the time. I don't want to be another kid who just reads tab and doesn't know jack about music theory. I already know some stuff such as chords and scales, but I would really like to learn more. I know there is a lot to learn, but I am willing to practice your course until I have mastered everything in it. Your course is something that I want soooo bad, but I don't really have the money to purchase it. Please think about my entry.

Dear Dan Denley,
I want you to imagine for a second this particular situation. Imagine, buying a guitar, taking lessons, and practicing, every day for two years with aspirations for being a great guitar player as your career. Now, with that, I want you to think of this, what would you do if within that amount of time, the ability of your playing were no better than your average person just picking up the guitar for the first time. After all that, lessons, practicing, two years time, and you still are at the playing ability of a beginner. That is the situation I am in right now. You might think that I'm exaggerating, but sadly, this is not the case. I have been playing for two years and I still cannot play a simple chord progression. I can't even switch from the D to the G chord without taking a long time to do it. Not only that I cannot play scales very well, at all. I cannot stay in tempo when I'm playing, my tone is horrible. I can't even play a simple three chord punk song. After all that time, and after all that money I have spent. I still can't even play a stupid punk song! So what am I to do? I have spent a lot of time by myself, crying, literally crying about it. For I feel as if I am a complete failure. I have seen many people around me who started taking lessons around the same time as I have and within that same amount of time, their light-years ahead of me. I've tried using other guitar related products similar to yours only to be disappointed. Now I'm at the point where my parents won't even let me buy another product like this for they feel as if I am wasting money. I have been looking for a product like this for a long time. And I have finally found it, for I feel that I will be able to truly take my playing ability to the next level. But the only way I can really get it is by winning it through this contest. I'll tell you, if I actually win this contest, I will be more than just the happiest person on earth; I'll also be the best guitar playing on earth! Okay maybe not the best, but certainly a lot better than I am right now. When I get home from school, the first thing I’ll do is use your course. And the way I am going to do it is by practicing every day, like I have been, only this time, when I get home from school, instead of practicing for a little while and getting discouraged. I will use your course to take my playing to the next level. All right, I think I have spilled my guts on this subject enough for I feel you get the point. All I want to say right now is thank you for reading this and to please consider me as one of you potential people who will win this contest.
Thank You,

Hi Dan I,m a 14 year old guitar player I take some lessons but there only 30 min. long so I don't learn that much in those 30 min. once a week I can play a few baisc songs and two hard ones I,ve taken your mini-corse and that was great I was amazed at how much I was able to learn just from that I was thinking wow if i can learn that much just from a mini-course I wonder how much I can learn from the full thing but being only 14 I have very little money if any at all so If i could get your full course that would really be a blessing to me
By kyle, at November 12, 2005
Hey Dan,
Your course sounds awesome!
I'm a 14 year old who's played for just over a year. I got a new teacher a while ago and have learned so much from him, but unfortunately my first teacher didn't teach me much. I am lacking in a bunch of basic areas.I want to elevate my playing to a new level.
I have started writing songs for a band I am trying to form, but before I do I think I need to get better before I actually do that. With your course I believe I can do that.

I'm a 42 year old, father of three girls who needs a little more time and motivation to learn guitar. My girls however enjoy how much I've improved with your lessons on line. Time is a precious commodity as you well know, and I believe your course will help me to make good use of that time. Thank you for putting out a quality product for guys like me who can't always go for private guitar lessons.
By Anonymous, at November 12, 2005
For years, and I mean a lot of them, I've told people that I'm a frustrated musician, that the only instrument I play is the stereo. It's good for a chuckle, but enough is enough. Fifteen years ago, I started taking private lessons, and then my son was born. Then, my daughter. The guitar's main function had been decorative, but now, finally, I've wiped the dust off it. I'm teaching myself with other online courses, and exploring the TAB web sites. My only frustration know is that I'm not learning the instrument fast enough. I feel I'm trying to make up for lost time. I've recently completed your six-part mini course, and found it greatly helpful. Winning a copy of your program would be wonderful. Of course, if I don't win, I'll still gladly purchase it. I'm convinced it's that good.
Many thanks, Dan.

Hey Dan,
I'm 16 and have been playing for bout 2 years but off and on due to some propbles that arose in my family. I acsitendaly ran acrose your web sit about 4 monthes ago when I was looking for the tabs to me and my girlfriends song. I must admit I was skeptical of your course at first but after hearing all the success stories I really believe it would help me tramindusely. I took lessons for a year form and elderly man in my town but I felt that we were just repeating lessons after about 6 monthes and I was waisting my parents money. I really hope to start playing with my youth group because we're about to lose our curretn guitarest and I would really love to fill his shoes to the best of my ability. Also my girlfriend wants me to start teaching her come the first of the year and I want to at least look like I know what I'm doing. I really think your course would help me to fofill my dream of becoming a guitarest, thanks abunch.

Dear Dan,
First of all, I would like to thank you for all of the hard work and effort you have put into this course. Developing a course of this size is a major project, so thank you for investing so much of your time and money in this project to help out your fellow guitarists. I know that you are not doing this to make money, but because you really want to help us become better guitar players. Thank you!We greatly appreciate it!
Secondly, thank you for doing this contest to give those of us who can hardly afford the course a chance to win it. It is very kind and generous of you. Please accept a heartfelt thank you from all of us competing in this contest!
Now I will move on to who I am and why I would like to win a copy of your course. I am a 17 year old High School Student. I have been playing guitar for several years and have worked through several short courses. Unlike many other complaints I have read, I have had success with these courses, however, it seems like I have reached a plateau in my playing, and progress seems rather slow. I believe that your course is what I need to reach that next level of playing. I love to learn and to improve as a guitarist. Nothing fascinates me like practicing and seeing progress. It’s so exciting! I am not currently in a band, but I do play with some of my friends. I also play just for personal enjoyment.
Once again I want to thank you for all of your effort and hard work. We as guitarists greatly appreciate it!
Sincerely,

The reason I want to win your course is: I am 49 years old and attempted to learn to play guitar when I was 15,Without instruction and got only mediocre results. I recently purchaced another guitar,it is an acoustic/electric,I practice daily but I think I need lessons to achieve my goals. I want to use your course to make my dreams come true! I always thought I did not have the talent, My joke was: I have the soul of a musician but maybe not the talent. My Dream is to be able to play Blues for an audience. It's in me and it has to come out. Can You Help?

Dan,
Music is the love of all my life. I've always wanted to reach the level of composing music freely at my own will. I want to write down and play all the music ringing in my head. To do this I need an instrument and that is the guitar. If I win the course, I'll do all my best to study it, all I can to comprehend it and get my guitar playing improved.

hi Dan,im just entering your contest to try and win your guitar course ,i'm not a very quick learner by any means, i practice every day ,i try scales ,rhythm reggae, country, folk, in fact i'm 52 and have been practicing the guitar since i was 21 with little or no progress, i have taken lessons but it must be my timing or something because every thing i try to play sounds the same ,i am no coward i have even tried playing along with the local folk band in the pub on tuesday night, but they asked me to leave as i was only making noise not music i dont expect miracles but if i don't win i will buy your course ,because one day i will get the hang of the guitar it's only a matter of finding out what it is i'm missing , i buy a lot of courses ,but what i need they haven't published yet, i can change chords hold chords, i use a metronome i sing along ,alone i might add, even my partner says its just noise the [guitar not my singing] i have to wait until it's late and practice with an electric guitar not plugged in while everyone is asleep, i have tried your mini course and find it very good that is the reason why i'm getting your course one way or another and hopefully it will have what it is that is eluding me all this time but if it hasn't i will keep looking well dan that's all i can say ,not very interesting but truthful,i am looking forward to your launch day and getting your course even if i don't win one. good luck

Hi Dan,
I would love to win the guitar package for 3 main reasons: Firstly, i adore music - it's an essential part of my life. I had been learning 5 instruments when i was in primary to early secondary school, but as i got older there were less opportunities to continue with lessons and thus i lost much of my playing ability - i would love to be able regain some of that ability with a new instrument - the guitar. Secondly, over the years, i have taken to writing my own music/lyrics and am not at the standard of playing where i can freely express this music on the guitar - and this is the most frustrating thing, i practice and practice and yet i'm at a stand still. It's like having thoughts and ideas and not being able to speak - i know it's extreme, but that's how i honestly feel. Nobody else can play the song how i hear the, but me, i don't know why... I would love to be able to finally play these songs myself. And finally I just want to make my mum proud, she's done so much for me and i just want to show her that all her work wasn't for nothing. Thank You and God Bless, Don

So, why do I want this course? Since I was about 8 years old, I have wanted to play the guitar, I've tried different books and none of it has helped me reach my goal. I feel that with your course I will be able to learn to play the guitar like a true musician.
I will use the course as much as possible to help enhance my playing everyday. Whenever I get the chance I plan to get it out and practice. I'm sure the course will benefit me greatly.

why you ask? well i love to sing, especially christian songs. I want to learn to play guitar so that I can play in my church. i am a senior in high school and i live in my school's dorm. i don't have the money for lessons or expensive books...but i do have a guitar. the free lessons on your site have helped me alot so far, but as my friend said i "still play the same 5 chords over and over and over". i would love to have your course so i can finally learn to play the songs i love!

I would love to win your course because of all the wonderful testimonials you have gotten. It must be incredible because of all the people who have benefited so much from it. There is one success story after another, and I want to be one of those added to your list. I think you have a great ability to teach complicated things by breaking them down in easy-to-understand terms. I know by researching all of the stuff available on the internet that yours is by far the most comprehensive course out there.

Dan Danley,
Honestly, I don't think anyoe deserves this course more than i do. I just started playing this past July, and my eagerness for learning the guitar has made me push myself extra hard to get everything perfect. I strive for perfection in everything i put my heart to. Sinse this summer i have near mastered all of the cord progressions and sinse then have started working on scales and solos. If there is anything about scales or anything you can give me, I would be forever greatful. Thank you so much for the emailed lessons, they were what got me really into wanting to learn scales and practice solos. Now I bring papers full of scales and such to work with me so I can read them and memories them. But I have a drive that makes me want to know everything there is to know about the guitar, and i hope that you will help me with learning more. Thank you once again.

Well, to be perfectly honest, in the last few months since I've been in college it's felt like everything has fallen out from under me. There were some stupid decisions on my part, but others I had no control over. It's put me on a roller coaster of emotions that has made my first semester in college nothing but a trial as to how I will handle myself in tough situations. The only way that I have learned how to express myself is through writing. I've been writing songs for two years now, and playing my guitar and singing them has freed me to an incredible degree. However I'm not a great guitarist. I wouldn't go far enough to call myself a good guitarist. I strum chords, and throw in some variations to the chords, but it's nothing fancy. I can't seem to put as much emotion into the music as I can through the words and it's frustrating to me. People will tell me that my song was "good" or "beautiful", but they're not feeling the emotion. The only time that has ever happened for me was on a song that I wrote for someone that I had a crush on for like three years of my life. I spent time on that song, gently stroking the guitar, caressing the notes on guitar and in the song. My friend told me right after I played it for him that he understood the music. He realized that I wanted to try and make the music match the beauty of the girl, just to try and give a musical comparison to her. However, he knows the girl and he knows how I feel for her, and he told me that while he knew what it was, he knew that it wasn't close to how I feel about her. He knew that by the lyrics and by knowing me. I just can't seem to express myself fully, and to tell you the truth Dan.. As Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young once said in "Southern Cross":
So I'm sailing for tomorrow. My dreams are a-dying.
And my love is an anchor tied to you, tied with a silver chain.
I have my ship, and all her flags are a-flying.
She is all that I have left, and music is her name.
I don't just deserve the course, but I need it. It's my own personal therapy. I need to be able to express myself fully. I truly hope that you consider me Dan.

My goodness, after reading the above, who is to say who deserves a free course...everybody really. Well good luck in choosing Dan. My situation is this.
I've been playing rhythm guitar and the singer in an amatuer jazz band for about 4 years. Still classify myself as a beginner-intermediate player. Can't find teachers or courses that will fill in the blanks between what I do know and what I need to know to move forward.
I am a beginner improvisor and this is what I am focusing on at this time in my development.
I also teach beginning guitar to only a few students so I am trying to do a great job for their music education, (I know you could help me here), but I stress to parents that I make it fun and that's why students stay with me for their second year now.
I am a full time teacher in a primary school. I love kids but the job is really full on and stressful at times. I will one day be a better player because I want to be and do my best in the limited time I have. I buy many books and take many courses, but I need someone to give me a clear set out course to get there. Is that your course? If so allow me the opportunity of your gift and I will be your hardest working student, your biggest fan, your best promotor through word of mouth and very grateful.
Sincerely,
Jessie Hills

Dan, I could really use the free course. i have been playing for a while and I need something to help me get further along. From what i see your course looks like it would be a very good help. We just went through hurricane Rita here and money is tight with all repairs ,etc. Thanks for all the tips. Rick Allen. jallen51@gt.rr.com

Dan,
I've been reading your e-mails for a little while debating whether or not I could scrounge up the dough for the course. When I heard you were giving one away I know it was right up my alley.
I just picked up my first guitar a few months ago and I love it. I am a University student and I use guitar as a way to stay in on most weekends to save some money. So far so good.
To answer your question Why I deserve it and How I will use it...the answer is simply...GIRLS.
So far the response from the ladies has been amazing (I'm sure you know already) and all I want is to get better.
I can't think or a better reason for any young guy to deserve your course; can you? I hope to hear from you soon; so until next time...

I already left my comments once but I forgot to leave any contact Info. The reason I would like to have the course is because I would like to bring my playing abilities up to thier full potential. If I had the course certainly I would use it to learn, but if the course helped me as much as you think it will, I would also tell everyone that showed a desire to learn about the course and how much it helped me.At this time the only way I could afford the course is to win it.Sincerely, Jody Bush at bushimports@sbcglobal.net

I, My son of 20 and my son of 11 are all learning to play guitar. I was in the military through my older son's youth, and with my current job still find it difficult to do alot of the dad things. We do the lessons together and that allows us to bond on a more even level. We are becoming a close family and more importantly, good friends. Thank you

I really have enjoyed your e-mail lessons and tips - thank you. I admit that I will will probably never become a professional musician, but I would like to become proficient enough to feel comfortable playing in public. Most of the schools have dropped music from their ciriculum and I would like to go inot pre-schools and day cares on a volunteer basis to "teach with music" and to get kids interested in making and understanding music.
Thanks again, Dan!

Dan,
I have enjoyed your mini course so much and I thankyou for always answering any of my questions that I have. I was really considering buying your course but I wasn't sure if I was ready to spend the money to buy the course. But when I heard about you giving away a free course I was all ears. I have learned so much from your lessons so far from chord progressions to basic scales and strengthening skills. It has always been a dream of mine to be able to play whatever I wanted and to be able to play it well. Finally, with a little motivation from my friends and a lot of help from you Dan, My friends and I all bought acoustic guitars about a month ago. Since I have started your mini course I have seen a HUGE progression that not only I have noticed put my parents and my friends. I have now played a few songs in front of my church and school thanks to your help. But you are totally right, it take unumerable hours of practice and I always like to push myself to be better by trying new stuff that I thought I could never play before. I think your course would help me so much and even if I don't win the free course I wanted to let you know that you are an awesome teacher and you deserve a metal or better for helping so many people to fulfill their dreams. Thankyou so much.
